FRENCH TEACHER

Marion is a French teacher specialized in teaching French as a second language (FLE). Marion grew up in Paris, France, in a multilingual family. She has studied five languages, three of which she speaks fluently (Spanish, English and Portuguese).  She has a Master’s degree in Applied Languages and International Relations from Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, and in Intercultural Management from Université de Limoges. Marion loves transmitting her passion for her native language, and the joy that comes from speaking it.

Her methodology is based on exploring the origin of words through etymology, while helping students develop their own personal relationship with the language through storytelling. She believes having a strong sense of humor is also required when learning a language with so many exceptions! Beyond simply speaking the language, she views language learning as a process of persistence, tolerating discomfort when things don't make sense yet, and discovering a new facet of ourselves: who are we when we speak this other language? Over her 15+ years of teaching, Marion has worked with Korean native speakers (ages 11-17) in an after-school program in Toronto, Canada; English speakers (ages 4-7) entering French immersion programs for the first time; and young learners and teenagers at the French Alliance in Atlanta, Georgia.
